Apologies for no 'Nails of the Week' post this week but everything has been feeling pretty hectic and being the numpty that I am, I did not plan. At all. However, I did manage to squeeze some time in to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and thought you all might like a laugh!
It's finally here! The Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick review I keep promising and I am über excited to be writing it at last! I have completely fallen head over heels for this product, so much so, that I have already convinced a couple of friends to get it - it's that good.
I decided that this week was a great time to try out a polish from the French Connection Collection received on my birthday.
I've always been a horror film fan. I like the feeling of being scared and rattled - whilst knowing that I'm completely safe in the comforts of my home, of course! - and I'm always on the look out for a good horror film to get caught up in.
Creepy and psychological horror is the type of genre I prefer to watch, with films such as 'The Blair Witch Project', 'Paranormal Activity', 'Insidious' etc. topping the bill. What I look for in a film is something that'll make me think and have a good shock factor, as well as, having scares that aren't so "in-your-face" but that'll still give you goosebumps. And sometimes, a true gem will be stumbled upon and it'll become one of my favourites; 'Devil' is definitely one of these gems.
Wow. I cannot believe I've been nominated for the Liebster Award after only a short time of blogging! Thank you so much to Ciara, owner of the fab blog Love Once Upon A Dream, for the nomination and thank you for all the support and love you readers have been giving me. It's truly appreciated and nice to know that my efforts are starting to pay off!
This is going to be another short and sweet post I'm afraid, as I'm still feeling under the weather with flu and staring at my Mac isn't half stinging my eyes!
This week's nail varnish is another lovely offering from Barry M's Hi Shine Gel Nail Paint range, after picking it up in a Mini Boots Haul the other week. I'd been seeing a lot of love coming from different beauty bloggers over Barry M's summer shades but Lily's and Estée's posts made me take the plunge with the colour 'Almond'.
This post is a bit of a last minute one due to the fact I have been consumed by the starts of the flu - ugh. However, from the confines of my bedroom and duvet, I am striving on to write this for you lovely lot.
Instagram has got to be my favourite phone app, closely followed by The Simpsons: Tapped Out - man, is that addictive! Anyway, I digress; the fact that you can take any photo, add a filter and it comes out looking awesome is just ace!

Broadway shows are brilliant, aren't they? So much energy, buzz and excitement alongside incredible acting and songs that stay in your head for weeks. Granted, they're not everyone's cup of tea but to me, they are something rather special.
As you may have seen from my Birthday Week in Pictures and Birthday Bonus posts, I recently ventured down to London to see the hit musical 'Wicked' and as soon as the curtain closed after the grand finale, I knew instantly that I wanted to write a review about it.
We're here again: monthly favourites time! July was an extremely busy and fun month for me, meaning this post could have been huge with the amount of things I've been loving. But I've narrowed it down to three major lip loves and three essential non-beauty-related items for your perusal.
As you may have guessed from my #100happydays and Birthday Week in Pictures posts or if you've taken a gander at my Instagram, photography is a very big passion of mine. I take my baby (Canon EOS 550d) everywhere I can and am always snapping away, much to the amusement of my family and friends. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to photography but I love everything about it.
One of my favourite past times is to grab a magazine, find a comfy spot to sit and read it cover to cover and then again. Twice. I have so many nice memories from doing this and I'm almost certain that all of the ones bought are stashed away somewhere in the attic, waiting for when I'm feeling nostalgic on a rainy day.
This love of the mags started in my early teens when I used to get pop music magazines like 'Smashhits!' to drool over Dougie from McFly; it then moved on to ones such as 'Kerrang' during my rock chick days and now that love has blossomed for the beauty and style offerings.
What's one of the best things about magazines? The freebies. And July has been pretty amazing for them.
