Nails of the Week #23: New Year's Eve Edition

Sunday, January 04, 2015

Happy New Year everyone! To celebrate the start of 2015, my friends and I kept things pretty simple by heading to our local bar, having a few drinks and plenty of laughs. But seeing as it was New Year, I still wanted to glam things up a bit with my outfit and I feel my nails reflected this nicely.

Of course, there had to be glitter and I even went a bit girly on the colour front; I paired up '51', a dusky pink, from Golden Rose's Paris Collection with 'Pink Sapphire Glitter' from Barry M and it looked awfully pretty

My Mum and her other half brought me back some Golden Rose nail lacquers from their trip to Turkey back in September last year and despite wanting to try them out, I just hadn't had chance to. This meant that when I was feeling a bit of pink for the welcoming of 2015, it was the first choice. The colour is beautiful and though the formula was a bit thin and therefore needed three coats, it seemed to be quite robust.

To add that special sparkle for the big night, the glitter polish from Barry M stood out the most. Firstly, it's pink based so matched the colour theme I was going for and secondly, it's a gorgeous polish! It is full of large particles of pink and silver glitter, as well as, small strips of silver pieces too. It was easy to apply and I felt I could manipulate the little pieces easily so that it was even spread. It, too, has been rather long lasting and certainly survived the fun and frolics of the New Year Celebrations!

Together the two polishes made a delicate but glam look for New Year's Eve and I would happily pair them up again in the future.

What's on your nails this week? What did you do to welcome in 2015?
