'Beautylymin' Giveaway Prize: Benefit's 'Cheeky Sweet Spot'

Wednesday, January 14, 2015

I was one lucky lady before Christmas - hence the festive-themed photos - because I won the awesome giveaway from 'Beautylymin' and I could not have been happier with what I received! The wonderful prize was the Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O' Blushes from Benefit and my word, is it beautiful.

Before I go on any further, how adorable is the packaging?! It's so cute and funky. I especially like the little details such as a squirrel holding a sign saying "Please enter around front" on the back of the tin, see...cute! The tin has a lid that opens at the front to reveal the mixed palette.

Inside, there are 5 powder blushes, 1 powder bronzer, 1 cream highlighter and a small brush. I'm not the biggest fan of the brush but the rest are simply brilliant

'Hoola' is a lovely, warm bronzer that is quite dark so imagine will be getting more use in the summer and 'What's Up!' is a bright, champagne-gold highlighter that I actually really enjoy using. I only started getting into contouring properly last year and this year, especially with spring on the way, I want to learn how to highlight properly. 'What's up!' seems like a great one to start with and has a creamy formula, making it easy to apply and blend. I'm still getting to grips with it in terms on highlighting correctly, so I'll be keeping you more informed as time goes on!

The 5 blushes are all stunning and it's great that there's a nice range of shades in the set. 'Dandelion' is a pale pink, 'Bella Bamba' is watermelon-type pink with gold glitter, 'Coralista' is a coral colour that has fine gold glitter in it, 'Sugarbomb' swirls together to make a peachy/coral shade and 'Rockateur' is a deep rose-pink. All are extremely wearable but I find myself opting to wear 'Rockateur' and 'Dandelion' most at the moment; though I imagine the others will be used more during the sunnier months. I know not everyone is a fan of shimmer finishes on your cheeks but I like these a lot and although 'Bella Bamba' has quite large glitter particles, it blends out nicely to give an even, pretty glow.

Swatches L-R: 'What's Up!', 'Hoola', 'Dandelion', 'Bella Bamba', ''Coralista', 'Sugarbomb' and 'Rockateur'

The pigmentation is fantastic and they all apply wonderfully, only needing a small amount of product on the brush to get a good colour. The product also remains on the cheeks for most of the day, which is something that can lack from cheaper blushers; even though it is always something I look for, as I do love sporting the rosy-cheek look.

There was also a little booklet to be found inside the tin, telling you about the different products in the set and gives some great tips on the best ways to use them. I found it extremely useful and a good added extra!

I'm incredibly glad that I won the giveaway from such a fab blog (seriously, check it out!), it was the best early Christmas present - thank you again, lovely! - and I'm definitely enjoying wearing these shades, although I do find I'm saving them for special occasions seeing as they are just so gorgeous!! Does anyone else do that or is it just me?

Did you manage to get your hands on Benefit's Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O' Blushes?

  1. This is such a pretty set. I have it. The blushes are not far of their normal full-size boxed ones either :-)
