If you saw this post here, you'll know that picking out a nail colour for this week was going to be a tough job. So. Many. Choices.
Well, seeing as it was still quite close to Valentine's Day at this point, I was feeling one of the pinks and eventually settled on Barry M's Speedy Quick Dry 'In A Heart Beat'.
Of late, I have been finding myself with my hair tied up more often than not. Now this may not sound like anything odd, but from the ages of around 10 to 22 I avoided tying my hair up like the plague.
This was massively to do with self confidence issues and I always felt that it made me look like a guy - never a good thing when you're a teen! At the age of around 14/15 (during my 'emo/goth' phase), I even had my long locks all chopped off and had it black and spikey (sorry but I'm not going to include a photo for you to laugh at see). I digress… The point I'm making is that I never wore my hair up unless I had to. Until now!
For Christmas, my wish list had rather a lot on it and boy, did my family deliver...and then some! One of the items on my wish list, as like so many, had been on there for months upon months but I had never given in to my own desire and purchased it. This year though, it was atop the list and with some sales going on left, right and centre, I gently pointed my Mum in the right direction and there it was on Christmas Day, in all it's glory.
What's that I hear you say? The sun has been starting to make more appearances and the temperature has been staying in the plus figures? Why, yes it has! This, coupled with the fact that the nights are starting to draw out, can only mean one thing...
Spring is on the way. Finally!
As promised in my January Favourites, today's blog offering is a cute - albeit slightly generic - Valnetine's Day design that has been gracing my nails leading up to the "big day".
I apologise for these ‘Favourites’ being late and the lack of a ‘Nails of the Week’ post but after a few technical difficulties last week and a hectic weekend, it simply wasn’t going to happen. However, today see’s my ‘January Favourites’ coming to light and I’ll be doing a special Valentine’s Day Nails post over the the next couple of days, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
So, on to the items I was loving throughout January…
I know what you're thinking, "another eye shadow palette Amy?!" but when I see one from a favourite brand of mine at an reasonably affordable price - and you all know I'm on a mission to save some pennies this year (and if you didn't, you can read that here) - I simply cannot help myself.
I have had my ears pierced for a very long time. I remember the day I asked my Mum if I could get them done, I remember the trip to town, I remember the smell of the jewellers and the hot feeling I got waiting for it to be done. I can even remember the sting that came after the gun went off and the needle went through. I was so proud of my ear piercing and the earrings that graced them – gold with red gems if you wanted to know. Basically, I was the envy of a lot of my friends.
As soon as I received My Little Box’s January box and saw the Nails Inc. polish inside, I knew that I wanted it on my nails as soon as the change-day came. True to form, Sunday came and on went ‘Tate’ and I almost didn’t want to take it off!
